MDO4000
A revolutionary new instrument from Tektronix

The MDO4000  Mixed Domain Oscilloscope is the first oscilloscope to correlate the analogue, digital and RF domains.  All other oscilloscopes use the FFT to convert data from the analogue input channels, but the MDO4000 is unique in having a separate RF input with higher dynamic range.  It can also be used as a stand-alone spectrum analyser for many applications.

    The Spectrogram display enable you to observe slowly changing signals.

    The upper trace is like a strip chart chart with the most recent data at the bottom. 

    You can scroll through the data and view frequency of each peak at that point in time. 

 

This window demonstrates how the three domains come together

  • Yellow trace shows VCO enable turning on
  • Cyan trace shows VCO voltage variations in response to enable command.
  • Purple trace (when expanded) shows the decoded SPI command to set to 2.4GHZ
  • Orange trace shows RF signal after VCO locks. (The RF display indow view is determined by the small orange square above the 25MS/s box)
